The Bluebonnet Room
$168

Done in blues and yellows, this crisp, bright room gives tribute to Bud’s mother, Virginia McKinney. Ms. McKinney’s love of the Texas Bluebonnets makes this cheery room special. A king-size bed, photos of the past, and antique claw-footed tub, a view of our white swans, and the bluebonnets make this a room to remember.

Bluebonnets are the state flower of Texas. Bud and I lived in Austin for 13 years and when the McKinneys (Bud's parents) came to visit in the springs, Virginia felt as though she was landing in fields of bluebonnets. She loves them and we love her. We named the room in her honor. The bright blues and yellows remind us of her happy disposition. Photos and memorabilia from "mom" are displayed in the room. Be sure to check out the "antique" tub and ask for more stories - Beth is always willing to share them.

Today we are looking forward to sharing "one of Virginia's bucket list requests."  She would like to fly in a hot air balloon and for her 92nd birthday (April 29, 2015) we will present her with the voucher to fly up, up and away in the Chicago area (her home) with family members making it a flight with four generations.

We miss seeing you so often, but this room provides us with many great memories.  Thank you!!
